John plays guitar and computer for the Guessmen. He sometimes sings backing vocals. He has blond hair and blue eyes. When he wears a hat he looks like a burglar. He is shorter than alan. His hobbies include sleeping, eating and drinking. He also enjoys playing the clarinet. As a composer of electroacoustic music he has had works performed as far afield as Australia. As a sound engineer he has worked with such exciting local bands as the Psychedelic Breakfast and The Embassy, and recorded the strings for the recent NewcastleGateshead Chimera Project.
